Arma III looks alright, click read more and check the video
In rant
Arma III is on the horizon and as the Battlefield franchise starts to look at more and more ways in which to imitate the business model of it's console friendly, DLC loving, mainstream FPS companion COD. Arma III seems to be a throw back to the good old days of online shooters, community centred, console unfriendly, moding rich.
Undoubtedly it will all come down to how well it's received by that said community, but also the gaming community as a whole. There is only so long the supposed 'good guy independent' publishers can resist the temptations of the bean counters promises of wealth and whilst the ARMA III developers are by no means immune, they do seem to be challenging the modern era FPS giants- BF3 and COD, with a different approach to business. Which brings me round to the reason of my somewhat premature endorsement of Arma III, before I even get my hands on it and it may sound like a reason not to try the game for some, that being; it isn't Battlefield.
Which the video below goes someway to highlighting. If you take the plunge I'll see you on a small Greek island ^__^
(Alpha is out now, which is buggy as hell. I'm waiting on the final release. Already fed up of being an alpha tester on warz)
